Our supercharged workshops cover all areas of the science curriculum including biology, chemistry, physics, Earth & space science, as well as important scientific inquiry methods. We service schools in the Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula region. We bring all the equipment and materials with us, and pack everything away at the end of our visit. Easy!

Yes, we have a minimum booking of 3 x 60 minute workshops or 2 x 90 minute workshops. We can deliver one workshop, however the cost will be equal to the cost of 2 x 90 minute workshops. Please contact us for a quote.
If you are from a small school we suggest you look at collaborating with other local schools to share costs and meet minimum booking requirements. We also have online and DIY workshop options.
Yes. Our workshops cater to a maximum of 30 students so as long as you don’t go over this number, you have the option of splitting grades and running fewer workshops. However if budget allows we do recommend keeping classes intact and running one workshop per class. The smaller the group size, the better the quality of the session in terms of access to the equipment and the facilitator.
We deliver our supercharged workshops in either a 60 or 90 minute format. The length you choose will depend on your budget, the number of workshops, the type of class and personal preference. Our 90 minute incursions work with any timetable as we split the session to fit in with lunch and recess breaks.
Yes, we offer a range of innovative and engaging holiday programs, events and activations to excite junior scientists. Whether they have an interest in electronics and circuitry or fizzing chemical reactions – we bring it all! Contact us for more information.
A standard sized classroom will work fine for our workshops as we deliver to small group sizes of up to 30 students max. We need a presentation table and room in front for the students to sit. Six tables for students to work at, with or without chairs. Access to a sink in the room or close by is ideal for our wet sessions. A TV screen or interactive whiteboard is needed for some of our workshops.
Safety is our number one priority, and our workshops have been developed accordingly. We have never had a safety incident in the 10 years we have been facilitating science workshops. We have risk assessments available for all of our workshops on request.
If possible, a car spot reserved in the staff car park or as close as possible to the school would be appreciated as we carry bulky equipment.
Yes, we have comprehensive insurance cover up to 3 million dollars. You can download a certificate of currency here. In addition we have completed risk assessments on all of our workshops, these are available on request. Our workshops are deemed low risk.
All our facilitators are experienced in delivering highly engaging science incursions. They have a tertiary qualification in either science or education or both.
Supercharged HQ is based in Frankston, travel surcharges apply to schools further than 30km from Frankston.
Yes, we do travel to regional locations and interstate, but there are substantial travel and accommodation costs that could be prohibitive. We have online and DIY workshop options that are more economical.
Yes, we are skilled at tailoring school workshops, holiday programs and events to your needs. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Yes, although many of our workshop facilitators are qualified teachers others are experts in science and do not hold formal teaching qualifications. Thus, it is a requirement that the classroom teacher remains in the room throughout the incursion. Look on it as a PD opportunity!
Yes, our workshops do count towards Professional Development. You will receive a PD certificate at the end of our workshops as proof of your attendance.
